Michael Scott Skwarcan

Born and raised in Elkhart, IN. After graduating high school, I had to make the choice all high school kids do, college or work?  I choose college as most people do, and had narrowed my options down to Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN or Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.  I was looking at Purdue’s engineering program or I could go to Lake Land College on a tennis scholarship.  I decided to go to Lake Land College, where I choose Web Technology as my major.

In May of 2008 I graduated with my Associate’s in web technology. I must say though, that I believe I made the right decision because I really enjoy creating graphics and designing web pages. I worked for a software development company called Luster Software located in Champaign, IL during my stay in Illinois and really enjoyed it.

I went back home to Indiana for the summer and worked a couple different jobs.  I started out working at WSBT radio station as their web designer working on different site redesigns and social media work with KickApps and Ning.  While working working there, I picked a freelance contract to help work on an ASP.Net shopping cart site.  After that, I finally finished up doing some work for the local newspaper, The Elkhart Truth, where I designed a couple different interfaces for some applications they had running from their site.
